The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce has recognized Sandor Scher with its Champion of Business Award for his work on the Ocean Terrace redevelopment plan. Scher was honored at a luncheon on February 7, 2018 at the WALL Nightclub, at which former City of Miami Beach Mayor Niesen Kasdin interviewed Scher. Kasdin asked Scher about his family life, plans for revitalizing Ocean Terrace, projects he’s worked on and his leadership skills.
Over 100 guests gathered at the annual event that recognized pillars of the business community for their leadership. The honorees were:
- Sandor Scher of Ocean Terrace Holdings received the Champion of Business Award
- Robin Jacobs of Miami Beach Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery received the James McDonnell Outstanding Board of Governor Award
- Jeff Greene from 84 West Events was honored with the Small Business of the Year Award
- Sally Drinkhouse & Nicole Pritchett of Drinkhouse Fire & Ice was awarded the Women in Business Award
The Champion of Business Award that was given to Sandor Scher recognizes a successful business person who has been effective in changing the dynamic within an industry, developed groundbreaking ideas and business strategies and have used technology to advance a brand while maintaining philanthropic activities.
